The freestyle competition finished today for the remaining DTA members. Kase Mauger finished with a dominating performance in the seventh place bout. His opponent was Dyson Kunz from Nebraska. Kase would open the match with two quick takedowns. He followed the second takedown with a trapped-arm gut wrench for two more turns and a fall. Kase finished the tournament as an All-American in 7th place.
Destin Summers also had a strong showing. He opened up with a high scoring 20-9 victory over Virginia's Aaron Howell. His second match was against Parker Mcbride from Washington. After exchanging scoring opportunities and racking up a total of 20 points, Summers earned the victory by fall. Next, Destin battled a tough opponent, Kai Orine from Missouri. In a hard fought match, Summers would emerge victorious by a narrow margin, 10-8. His final match would come in the "blood round". Winners of this round earn All-American status and place in the top eight in the country. Summers battled well, but in the end was pinned by Nick Onea of Pennsylvania.
